Shot List

Yell Advert 1: Throughout the whole first advert, the video is set from a pov prospective which in a sense 'locks' the viewer within the view of the character, preventing them from seeing any incoming danger which adds more to the horror aspect. Advert 2: In advert 2, the camera angle is constantly changing throughout the advert whilst the character is speaking, however the characters speech is never interrupted and can be heard clearly throughout the cuts.  Strange Advert 3: In advert 3, it starts with a tracking shot of the charter which then cuts off to a shot from outside of the window with the character then peeling the blinds to the side as they are then shown peering through the window and ends with the character walking outside to where the advert abruptly ends. Advert 4: Advert 4 is the second perspective of advert 3 and shows off the other character confusingly searching for the character shown in advert 3. The whole basis of advert 4 is small jump cuts which lead up

Statement Of Intent

My 4 adverts are all part of my channel called Terrific Tremors TV, a horror channel with a target audience of 16-24 year olds. My channel slogan is that of 'Terrifically terrifying', this is done to allow the channel to be memorable via the alliteration that has been used and for it to be recognisable to a wider audience. The 2 shows that are displayed on my channel are called 'Yell' and 'Strange' and they both have 2 advertisements each, with Yell having a sort of 'continuation' to the second advertisement by showing a snippet of the start of the second advertisement at the end of the first one but to not give much away before the second advertisement is aired, it cuts away very quickly and is replaced with the title card. (The first part of the advert would be streamed on the channel for a long period before the second advertisement would be as to fully give the continuation feel.) Strange displays both of the povs of the 2 characters but by doing it

Continuity In Films

Film Continuity  Continuity editing is essentially a magic trick. It is about creating something that isn't real, whilst also suspending the audiences disbelief. Continuity editing effects the pacing and trajectory of the story. Bad continuity effects the audiences understanding of what is happening in the scene. A big part of getting continuity correct is keeping track of left and right so that the visuals look right.  Match On Action Match on action refers to film editing and video editing technique where the editor cuts from one shot to another view that matches the first shot's action. Although the two shots may have actually been shot hours apart from each other, cutting on action gives the impression of continuous time when watching the edited film. It is a form of continuity editing.  180 Rule  In film making, the 180 rule is a basic guideline that states that two characters in the same scene should always have the same left/right relationship to each other. If the ca

Lighting

Types of lighting 3-Point Fill Lighting: 3 lights create a normal-looking scene with soft shadows and average colours. Using a 3-light setup to provide normal lighting across and entire object, the exact opposite of chiaroscuro. This is used in most 'normal' scenes with any objects in focus. Chiaroscuro Lighting: Characterised by harsh lighting that creates an extreme contrast between different areas of the shot, such as a characters face. Can be used with colour, but also can be used in black and white for a different feel. Common in horrors, dramas and any other type of film where the atmosphere of the scene plays a vital role. High Key Lighting: High Key lighting uses harsh, bright lights to reduce contrast in a scene, giving the scene white-washed, clean look that doesn't add any shadow within the frame. (Often seen in things light toothpaste advertisement to create the shimmering white shine of the teeth) Low Key Lighting: Low Key Lighting is all about creating shado
